So I was watching this totaly awesome movie this weekend, Star Trek: The Motion Picture 1979, and well, it has some great special effects. Then I had this idea, if I could take some stills of some of the scenes-then I could reproduce them in fabric applique and embroidery. Here are a handful of the stills I took. There are so many more. But this is a good start. I'm sure once I get started in the application of the project, it is going to be ALOT of work, so we'll see how many I'll actually do... But I can totally see them as these strange fabric abstracts.
